Tools You’ll Need
How To Make This Lemon-Lime Soda?
Start by putting the saucepan on a medium flame add lemon juice, lime juice, agave syrup, and ¼ cup water to this. Keep stirring and cook for about 5 minutes or until all the ingredients are well combined. Once done, increase the heat and bring it to a boil.
Lower the heat to a gentle simmer and let the syrup thicken and reduce to half of its original quantity. This will take about 10-15 minutes, remove from heat. Cool the syrup completely before transferring and storing it in a bottle.
Refrigerate the syrup until chilled, for lemon-lime soda add two tablespoons of syrup in each glass and top it with club soda. Stir and serve with ice immediately.
Variations We Suggest
Apple Juice
Fancy a bit of apple flavour? Add 1/4 cup apple juice instead of water and decrease the sugar to 1/2 cup when making the fruit syrup and follow the same steps to make the syrup. Store this concentrate in the same way that you would store the lemon-lime soda.
Torani Fruit Syrups
Sugar-free syrups from Torani are a great way to add flavour to your lemon-lime soda, here is a list of our favourites raspberry syrup, blood orange syrup, watermelon syrup, cane syrup, orange syrup, kiwi syrup and our personal favourite chai tea spiced syrup. Just add 3-4 tablespoons of these syrups to the batch of fruit syrup and we’re good to go!
Kala Namak (Himalayan Black Salt)
THIS IS OUR PERSONAL FAVOURITE, Kala namak or Indian salt makes everything taste so much better. Just sprinkle some extra fine Himalayan black salt, on top of the drink just before serving. Stir it with your straw and taste the kickin flavour!
Good Ole Mint
Crush up some mint leaves with your hands or chop them up and add to either the sugar syrup while its cooking or just add it to your glass as garnish. If you’re interested in a minty fresh drink try our 5-minute virgin mojito drink.
Store The Syrup
Store the leftover syrup in a bottle in your refrigerator for up to one week. Or transfer it into ice cube trays and freeze for a month. Just pop two cubes and top it with club soda and there you have it homemade refreshing lemon-lime soda!
