In a large cup, squeeze the juice out of the lemon or lime use about 1 tablespoon to 1 1/2 tablespoons, depending on your citrus preference. For extra flavour put the squeezed lemon or lime peel into the cup as well.
Roughly tear up the mint leaves and add them into the cup. You can do this by blending it as well but to keep things quick and simple use your hands. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon press and mix the now added mint into the cup. This helps in releasing the flavour of the mint and combining it with the juices.
Next, add the desired amount of ice into the cup, for this, I would suggest using small-sized ice. Pour in the can of soda into the cup. It is recommended to use lemon flavoured soda for the best flavour, but you can go for other flavours as well.
Gently stir the mixture together with a straw or a spoon, this will further pierce the mint leaves giving a more minty flavour. Let it stand for a few minutes before serving to allow the flavours to blend. It’s best to serve with a straw. Enjoy!
