Revitalizing Grapefruit Soda Recipe

Refreshing drinks can be found almost everywhere, but frankly, freshly made drinks work particularly well if you want a revitalizing kick to your life. Try our grapefruit soda recipe and have a go-to whenever you want a fresh drink this summer!

For Fruit Syrup

  • 2 cups red grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tablespoons grapefruit zest
  • 1 cup organic honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 5-7 big mint leaves

For Soda


For Fruit Syrup

  • In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup water, grapefruit zest, fresh grapefruit juice, honey, lemon juice and 3 mint leaves over medium heat.
  • Keep the heat on and mix until the contents reduce and a slight syrup is formed. Once the syrup has taken shape, turn the heat up and bring it to a boil.  
  • Take off heat immediately and take the mint leaves out using a wooden spoon carefully. Let it cool.
  • When cooled down strain it and transfer it into an airtight glass or storing container. Let the syrup cool down to room temperature before sealing the airtight container.
  • Place the container into the refrigerator until it’s completely chilled. This will be a concentrated mixture so don’t try drinking it like this. We still have one more step to do!

For Grapefruit Soda

  • To complete the drink, all you have to do is take 2 tablespoons of your grapefruit, honey and mint syrup and add it to 1 cup chilled club soda. Add the syrup according to your preference and balance out the drink.
  • Serve chilled, and add two mint leaves as garnish, or you could stick ina slightly cut grapefruit slice to the edge of your glass for a better presentation!

Grapefruit is extremely low in calories while being rich in nutrients, and it helps the immune system become strong and work more efficiently! So, it’s really good to include it in your diet plan and weight loss regime!
Honey on the other hand is rich in antioxidants, which help in lowering blood pressure and keeping your heart healthy! It is the best alternative to use in place of sugar as it's natural, just make sure to get pure/organic honey.
In the end, grapefruit is awesome for losing weight and is extremely good for your skin. The honey does add that sweetness that you’d like but the pink grapefruit itself is pretty sweet as well. In the end, everything adds up well with the refreshing mint leaves so that nothing will be harmful to your health, and it’ll be delightful!


Storing The Syrup

The syrup can last up to 2 weeks if stored correctly in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Or you can follow the steps of or lemon-lime soda drink and turn it into ice cubes and freeze them for up to 2 months.
